Isaac
and Tristan.
Isaac Reyna and Tristan Vidal founded Complete Outdoor Living in San Diego to keep design and installation in the same pair of hands. Outdoor design and landscape contracting. One firm. Two principals on site, from the first sketch through the final walkthrough.
Isaac
Reyna.
Isaac Reyna designs every project from the site up. He reads the lot before he draws a line: how the land drains, how the rooms inside set the scale of the spaces outside, where the morning light falls and where the afternoon shade moves. The design that results is specific to that property. He carries it through installation, on site each week, so the decisions made in the field are made by someone who understood the drawing.
Tristan
Vidal.
Tristan Vidal runs the field. He sets the installation standards, manages the crews, and holds the schedule accountable to the design. When a site condition changes, which it always does, Tristan makes the call with the drawing in hand. The care he applies to the work that happens below grade and behind the finish surface is the reason the finished space holds.
Trained in landscape
architecture.
Every project at Complete Outdoor Living begins with a designed plan. Not a product selection. Not a material sample. A plan that answers the site: how it drains, how it reads from the interior rooms, how it performs across thirty years of San Diego weather and use.
Isaac Reyna trained in landscape architecture before founding this firm. The discipline taught site reading at the scale of the lot. It taught that the proportions of outdoor rooms are set by the architecture of the house, not by what fits in the nursery catalog. Tristan Vidal brings that same discipline to the field: the installation follows the design, and the design is never compromised by a shortcut in the ground.
The result is outdoor space that was designed to be there. Not installed and left.
A backyard is
the room people actually live in.
The homeowner conversations Isaac has all start with the same shape. How they use the space now. Then how they want to use it. The yard where the kids and the dog and Saturday afternoon happen all at once. The terrace where someone has coffee at six in the morning. The garden that will be there when the grandchildren visit. Those are not landscaping briefs. They are descriptions of a life being designed.
Complete Outdoor Living exists because Isaac Reyna and Tristan Vidal want to do that work without handing it off. The design is theirs. They are on site when the installation decisions happen, because the decisions that preserve a design are made in the field, in the moment, by people who knew what the drawing meant. That is not a selling point. It is a basic condition of doing the work properly.
Isaac Reyna designs outdoor spaces from the architecture of the house outward. The proportions of the rooms inside set the scale of the spaces outside. Materials on the exterior of the home determine the hardscape palette. The planting plan answers the sun, the wind, and the way the family uses the space, not the trend cycle.

a conversation.
A thirty-minute call about the house, the site, and what you are hoping to make of the space. Isaac and Tristan will ask the questions that tell them whether the project is a fit. No commitment past the call.
